Saltwater Fishing
The Fjord in front of us is quite sheltered. Often, it has better weather and quieter water conditions than a few miles further up. Where many places closer to the sea may have quite some windy days not allowing boats to go out, here this is very rarely the case.
Saltwater fishing can be done from the bank and from the boat straight infront of our accommodation. The pier of the harbour is a popular place for bank fishing using Pilkers, Shads or Lug Worms.
The Skarnsund, a narrow connection between the Trondheim Fjord and the Beitstad Fjord, is within two minutes reach from the harbour. It offers incredibly good boat fishing for Saithe and Cod.
According to Norwegian law, you may export 34 lbs (15 kg) per person of your frozen self caught fish fillets. Foam boxes of the adapted sizes will keep your catch frozen for up to 48 hours. Don't forget, we have a common use large freezer located in the basement of our Villa.
Freshwater Fishing

Freshwater fishing includes fishing for Brown Trout and Eel, mainly in some hidden lakes at Fosen. Pike can be found in the lakes around Steinkjer and Large Brown Trout in some rivers emptying into the Snasa lake.
Atlantic Salmon and Sea Trout can be found in five rivers that are within a short 45 to 30 minute drive. A littlle further away is Namsen, Stjordalselva and Gaula.
Your host, Wim Ramakers, is a specialist in worldwide (fly) fishing for Salmon and Seatrout and may share his local secrets with you. Upon request, he may guide you to all types of fishing.
